Relactation Success, So Far

If you've read my previous blog posts, you know that I am in the process of relactating. For those of you who haven't seen my previous post titled Lactivism and My Experiences with Breastfeeding, I exclusively pump. My son wouldn't latch after birth and continues to refuse the breast at 4 months old. I stopped pumping when he was 3 months old due to chronic breast infections. My pumping strike lasted nearly a month, and I began trying to get my milk back last week. Today, I am up to about 2 ounces per day, though I think I'll probably get about 3 ounces today. I am SUPER excited about this, even though I would have been so upset about such a low supply before. I am taking Domperidone, a drug that increases prolactin serum levels, which is probably part of the reason my supply has increased from drops a day to a few ounces so quickly. Tomorrow I am going to start taking More Milk Plus and hopefully that will also help increase my supply.

  1. Just want to wish you good luck with relactating and I hope it's going well for you since you wrote this post. I am also just starting to relactate and it's great to find another momma who is going through the same thing. Best of luck to both of us!
